Hello! This is Orcel Saito.
It's been a month since I started supporting a veteran shop with 15 years of experience in the e-commerce business.
Our annual sales are over 100 million yen, but they have been consistently lower than last year, putting us in a really difficult situation.
However, in just the first month, we were already seeing a 20% increase, and hope was beginning to appear.
What we do is analyze data and implement measures that can be derived from it.
Even the president, who knows the industry inside and out, was surprised to see the data properly, and it made him keenly aware of how he had been operating his business in his own way and based on incorrect assumptions.
・There is no market where I thought there would be one.
- On the other hand, rapidly growing shops are making the majority of their sales from products they don't think will sell.
-I thought the conversion rate was the problem, but the root of the problem was actually access.
-I discovered that a rival was doing something that I thought was prohibited by the manufacturer, so when I inquired with the manufacturer, I found out that it was okay to do it.
・The reason why it wasn't selling was actually due to restrictions I had set in the past.
Every day is filled with new discoveries, and the situation has improved dramatically from what seemed hopeless at the end of January, and people are now working positively.
It's great that it comes with numbers too.

Many people make assumptions, saying that looking at the data is meaningless, that it only tells us which products are selling well, or that it doesn't apply to their company.
However, there is no shop that doesn't need data, except for those that are struggling with overselling.
How data is used is important.
Data that may seem trivial to the average person can be analyzed and inferred to access further data and discover business opportunities.
It is no exaggeration to say that with the internet and data, all problems can be solved.
"The data is unusable and useless"
Rather, it is the person who does not understand the importance of data,
"Useless person"
That's why.
The other day, I gave a demonstration of data research to a company president, who said,
"If everyone finds out, it will be a big problem, so please don't spread it to other shops on Rakuten."
But I was saying,
"It's okay. No one understands the importance of data at all, so let's get started quickly and use it to win."
I told him that.
It seems that Japan is by far the least developed country in terms of data literacy.
I find it strange that using data means that you are the only one who can bring in study books or cheat at the test site.
The data contains all the answers, from purchasing and developing e-commerce products to sales, after-sales support, and management.
Another president discovered that the market for his current industry was too small, so he quickly held a meeting within the company to discuss new business ventures.
