Last Friday, there was an overseas business exhibition in Tokyo, so I went there.

Exhibitors included web business companies, companies with strengths in specific regions such as the United States, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Africa, JETRO, a translation system company, a foreign currency exchange machine leasing company, and an FX company.

There were some companies that the ladies were trying to recruit me for that I wasn't sure about, but overall they were interesting companies and I learned a lot from them.

There were many visitors, which showed a high level of interest in overseas business.

I have attended several seminars, and the one thing that everyone mentioned was "cross-border e-commerce."
Cross-border e-commerce is recommended not only in the BtoC world but also in the BtoB world.

Until now, it was common to go overseas, build relationships, and then do business from there, but since the coronavirus outbreak, overseas business has changed dramatically.

There was also an example of a person who went on a business trip to Indonesia to make a new deal, but ended up conducting business negotiations via Zoom while he was there.

Many people currently working in retail on the Internet would never have been involved in retail if it weren't for the Internet.
I realized that cross-border business is exactly the same now, and that we are now in an era where people who do not trade or do business with overseas countries are expanding overseas through the Internet.
When going abroad, there are obstacles that must be overcome, such as the laws, regulations, culture, and national character of each country, but the hurdles are much lower when going online.
